A 24-year-old Minden man who reportedly is already facing court action in a domestic abuse battery case can now add another charge for the same offense after officers picked him up last week for allegedly striking a former girlfriend.

Chief of police Steve Cropper said Deandrel Moore, a resident of the 400 block of Morrow Street is charged with domestic abuse battery and is being held on a $20,000 bond.

“This will be arrest number four for Moore on the charge of domestic abuse battery, and he has one charge pending court action,” Cropper said. “This incident involves a different victim than the previous three charges.”

Cropper said Minden police officers Lt. Christopher Cheatham and Sgt. Ryan Barnett arrested Moore at his residence on an outstanding warrant. He reportedly did not resist arrest.

Cropper said the incident occurred Thursday, October 16 at the home of a former girlfriend.

“We understand Moore went to his ex-girlfriend’s house, got into a physical confrontation with her, then struck her on the left jaw with a closed fist,” the chief said. “Oddly, the suspect was with another female at the time of the incident, and the woman he was with has an active protective order against him.”
