Police: Man with hatchets tear gassed, arrested for aggravated assault

Minden police were forced to use tear gas on a Sarepta man, who barricaded himself in a room at Magnolia Motel on Shreveport Road Monday evening, according to a police report.

Albert Carter, 58, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, disturbing the peace and resisting officers. Carter reportedly had two hatchets in the room with him when police arrived and subdued him.

He was booked and transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
