Punch to the face leads to woman’s arrest

by Minden Press-Herald

An argument that turned physical ended in the arrest of a Minden woman after she reportedly punched her boyfriend’s sister in the face.

Webster Parish Sheriff’s Deputy John Lewis Jr. was dispatched to the 3000 block of Germantown Road in reference to a fight between two females. Upon arrival, he made contact with the complainant who stated her brother’s girlfriend was now living at the residence and a dispute ensued over a past due utility bill.

According to reports, the complainant was moving out of the residence and Haley Beth Mitchell, 22, was moving in. While the complainant was gathering some of her belongings, Lewis says Mitchell and the complainant got into a verbal dispute in the front yard of the residence over the utility bill. Mitchell reportedly shoved the other female into the tailgate of the truck parked there, and a short time later, Mitchell’s boyfriend showed up.

At that time, the deputy says the complainant reported that Mitchell went back outside and punched her in the right eye area, leaving bruising and swelling. Mitchell’s boyfriend separated the two and Mitchell reportedly threatened to shoot both the complainant and another person.

Mitchell was taken into custody and upon questioning, she admitted to fighting with the other female and losing her temper, deputies said. She also allegedly admitted to attacking the victim.

Mitchell was then placed under arrest and transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
