Qualifying for the November 3, 2026, election has ended, setting the field of candidates who will appear on the ballot for local offices across Webster Parish.
While a number of incumbents will face no opposition, several races — including contests for Minden police chief, Springhill mayor, Springhill city marshal, and multiple seats on the Webster Parish School Board and Minden City Council — will give voters a choice in November.
The election will include races in Minden, Springhill, Doyline, and Heflin, as well as judicial and district attorney races covering Bossier and Webster parishes.
Minden
Minden Mayor Nick Cox, the incumbent, qualified without opposition.
The race for Minden police chief will be contested, with four candidates qualifying: incumbent Jared McIver, Ryan Barnette, Tim Morris, and Darrell Morris.
Minden City Court Judge Sherb Sentell, the incumbent, qualified without opposition, as did Minden City Marshal “Dan” Weaver.
The Minden City Council will see contested races in Districts B, C, and D.
District A incumbent Carlton “Buddy” Myles and District E incumbent “Andy” Pendergrass qualified without opposition.
District B candidates are Terika “Reek” Walker, Shawn Hatcher, and Anthony “A.D.” Douglas.
District C incumbent Latasha Anderson Mitchell will face Javelin Hardy, Janice “Louise” Keener, Tracy Weston, and Eric Lee.
District D incumbent Michael Roy will face Braley Raborn.
Springhill
Springhill voters will have a two-person race for mayor between Derek Melancon and Adam Harris.
The race for Springhill police chief also will be contested, with incumbent Will Lynd facing Ronnie Coleman.
Springhill City Court Judge Stuart W. McMahen, the incumbent, qualified without opposition.
The race for Springhill city marshal has three candidates: Charles Edgell, Heath Stephens, and Lance Stockman.
Springhill alderman races include contests in Districts 2 and 3.
District 1 incumbent D. Nicole Frazier and District 4 incumbent Michael Whitlock qualified without opposition. J.B. Law qualified unopposed for District 5.
District 2 incumbent Dennis Smith will face Reva Rice, while District 3 candidates are Marla Hanson and Marcus Scott.
Webster Parish School Board
Several Webster Parish School Board races will be contested, while three incumbents qualified without opposition.
District 1 incumbent Margaret Edens, District 2 incumbent Debbie Thomas, and District 6 incumbent Jana Watson qualified without opposition.
District 3 will feature Patricia McMurray and Elizabeth Simmons.
District 4 candidates are Ty Pendergrass and Gary Odom.
District 5 has three candidates: Ricky Thomas, Yolanda Shaw Palmer, and Mike Wilkes.
District 7 candidates are Tina Douglas and Terry Combs.
District 8 incumbent Glenda Sherrill Broughton will face Heather Feeback and “Miss Chris” Broussard.
District 9 candidates are Patricia Williams, Belinda Neloms Evans, and Lloyd Davis Jr.
District 10 has three candidates: Danielle Phenix, Jeanine Major Franklin, and Robert Louis Stewart Jr.
District 11 candidates are Gary Cooper and Tamara Tanner.
District 12 incumbent Susan Addington will face “Jackie” Lockett.
The school board races will give voters in a number of districts an opportunity to choose between candidates as the parish prepares for another term of local education leadership.
Doyline
Doyline Mayor Crystal “Christie” Gates qualified without opposition, as did Police Chief Robert Hayden Jr.
All three Doyline aldermen seeking election also qualified without opposition: incumbent Steven Bridwell, incumbent Jackie “Bubba” Daniels, and incumbent Rachael Muniz.
Heflin
Heflin Mayor Ralph James and Police Chief Scott Herrington, both incumbents, qualified without opposition.
The three aldermen — Matthew Austin, Hallie DeMoss, and Robert Stachowicz — also qualified without opposition.
Bossier and Webster judicial races
The November 3 ballot also will include several judicial races serving Bossier and Webster parishes.
All candidates who qualified for the district judge seats are incumbents.
Division A: Mike Craig
Division B: Charles Smith
Division C: “Allie” Aiello Stahl
Division D: Doug Stinson
Division E: Michael Nerren
Division F: Parker Self
Schuyler Marvin also qualified without opposition for district attorney.
With qualifying now complete, candidates will turn their attention to the campaign leading up to the November 3 election, when voters will decide the contested local races and formally select candidates who qualified without opposition.
