Republic Services will implement several changes to residential waste collection in Minden beginning in early January 2026, according to information shared by Mayor Nick Cox and the City of Minden.
Starting January 9, 2026, Republic Services residential trucks will collect only waste placed inside company-provided 96-gallon carts. A maximum of two carts per residence will be serviced, and regular cart service will continue on Fridays.
Bulk collection will also change beginning January 9, 2026, moving to an on-call service. Residents will be able to schedule bulk pickup to occur within a seven-day period. Items eligible for on-call bulk collection include up to 10 bags of yard waste; large piles of limbs no larger than 6 feet high, 6 feet wide and 6 feet long with limbs no more than 6 inches in diameter; and one large household item such as a couch, recliner or bed mattress. Home cleanouts are not included, and disposal remains the responsibility of the homeowner or landlord.
Residents may schedule delivery of a second cart or arrange bulk service by calling 318-540-9865 or emailing [email protected]. Republic Services has established the phone number and email address specifically for Minden residents and businesses.
Beginning January 2, 2026, City of Minden residents will be allowed to use the Webster Parish Landfill at no charge for residential waste. Free access will be permitted once per week per household. Residents must present a utility bill listing a sanitation fee from the address and identification with the same family name shown on the bill. Commercial construction companies and lawn or tree care companies are excluded. Residents will be allowed to bring waste equivalent to the level of service described.
Republic Services also reminded residents of proper cart placement for automated side-load service. Carts should be placed at the curb by 6 AM on collection day, positioned at least 5 feet away from other carts and from objects such as vehicles, trees and mailboxes, with 15 feet of overhead clearance. Lids should be closed, arrows on the lid facing the street and handles facing the house.
Republic Services also announced plans to launch a Republic Services of Minden website to provide residents with updated service information.
