Funeral services for Robert James Pitman will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at North Acres Baptist Church in Minden with the Rev. Everett Geis officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Robert James was born Oct. 19, 1923 in Homer and entered into rest Jan. 28, 2016 in Minden. He served his country in the United States Navy and was the owner of Pitman Metal Works.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Erlene Pitman of Minden; daughter, Janice Clark of Minden; son, Roger Pitman and wife Sandy of Minden; sisters, Bettye Lowe and Ida Mae Yarbourgh of Minden; grandchildren, Christina Chester and husband Thomas of Minden, Emily Boackle and husband Anthony of Slidell, Jonathan Clark stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas, Stacy Edwards and husband Jason of Minden, Jamey Pitman and wife Mary Charlotte Pitman of Ft. Hood, Texas and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jamey Pitman, Jonathan Clark, Thomas Chester, Jason Edwards, Randy Ward and Robert Ervin.
