Former Sarepta High School students, teachers, employees, and their families are invited to reconnect and reminisce during the annual Sarepta High School “Celebration of Friends” reunion Saturday, October 3, at the Sarepta Community Center.
Doors will open at 9 AM, with attendees invited to visit throughout the morning. The reunion is open to anyone associated with Sarepta High School from kindergarten through 12th grade during the school’s years of operation from 1923 through May 2011. Graduation from the school is not required to attend.
The Sarepta Community Center is located at 210 Vines St. in Sarepta.
A catered lunch will be served around noon by John and Lisa Callender, owners of Bayou Two Caterers of Sarepta. The meal will include a choice of fish, shrimp, or chicken served with french fries, coleslaw, and hush puppies. Peach cobbler, apple cobbler, and ice cream will be served for dessert, with tea and water available.
Lunch is $18 per person, payable at the door. Those planning to eat should reserve their meal by Wednesday, September 30.

The reunion will again provide an opportunity to support Sarepta native and former student Josh Branton, a member of the Class of 2003. Branton was involved in an accident as a teenager that limited his mobility. A wheelchair-accessible transportation van was later donated to him by WHO, Women Helping Others, of Springhill.
The Sarepta High School reunion organization established a fundraiser to help Branton with expenses associated with maintaining and operating the van.
Donations may be made during the October 3 reunion. Those unable to attend may mail checks payable to the Hornet Nostalgia Fund to Sheila Robertson, 385 Bennett Road, Sarepta, LA 71071.
Organizers are encouraging former students to spread the word to classmates and others who attended or worked at Sarepta High School throughout its history.
