The Town of Sibley will host an emergency preparedness session Thursday, September 24, to help residents learn how to prepare themselves and their families for emergencies.
The Town of Sibley Outreach Program session will begin at 10 AM at Sibley Town Hall, 345 N. Main St.
The program will focus on several basic elements of emergency preparedness, including making a plan, building an emergency kit, staying informed, and taking steps to protect family members.
Residents are encouraged to have essential supplies available before an emergency occurs. Items highlighted by the town include water, nonperishable food, medications, flashlights, batteries, important documents, and first-aid supplies.
Emergency planning can help families know what to do and what resources they have available when severe weather, power outages, or other unexpected situations occur.
The outreach session is part of the town’s efforts to encourage residents to prepare in advance and promote safety throughout the community.
