SAREPTA – Ribbons were cut and sweet treats were enjoyed Tuesday, as the community celebrated the Grand Opening of the Spark Bakeshop at their new location in the Square, in the heart of Sarepta.

“Organizations have to become larger if they’re going to stay in good economic standings,” said Sherri Dluzak, bakeshop manager, “And the same goes for us non-profits. We needed more accessible space inside and more parking outside. This is an incredible thing we have going here, and just want to continue adding to it.”

The bakery has been in business for nearly 57 years, working with adults that have disabilities.

“We have about 24 clients here working at different times, and we love it.” Dluzak said, “Plus, we have a print shop, laundry service, and even a lawn service. So we stay plenty busy.”

In addition to all of these services, they also chose to utilize some of the space for small booths. Where community members have displayed their handmade arts and crafts – jewelry, candles, and more – to be sold.

Offering everything from appetizers, to fruit trays, to specialty cakes – the Spark Bakeshop is open for business Monday-Friday from 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. For additional information check out their Facebook page or call 318-847-4963.
