School Board holds special meeting to discuss various funds

The Webster Parish School Board held a special meeting on Thursday evening in order to consider advertising bids and approving the use of various funds for the maintenance of the schools. 

The notable items on the agenda were that the School Board passed a motion to consider advertising and accepting bids for a new storage building and baseball field backdrop at Lakeside High School. 

Another motion passed was for various maintenance at Lakeside such as additional sidewalks, PVC storm pipe drains, parking lot lighting, etc.

Two school’s requests for use of the 6 ½ Cent Sales Tax Fund were approved as well. J. A. Phillips is to upgrade 45 computers from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and Webster Jr. High School will be using the funds to pay the invoice for emergency air conditioner repairs. 

The next Webster Parish School Board meeting will take place on Monday, November 4 at their office.
