School expenditures approved in December

During the December 5, 2022, board meeting, the Webster Parish School Board approved a number of expenditures to help maintain and improve campuses across Webster Parish.

The Consolidated District 3 Maintenance Fund will be used to purchase two Kwik Goal soccer goals for Lakeside Jr/Sr High School from Anthem Sports for $7,216.80. It will also be used to pay an invoice of $2,240 to Sexton Tree Service for the removal of a large pine tree which was struck by lightning at Central Elementary School. 

The Doyline Maintenance Fund will be used to pay for HVAC work at Doyline High School. Mechanical Concepts will be paid $6,388.96 to replace one compressor and inverter board, $7,287.93 for repairing the HVAC system in the pre-K building, and $8,886.62 for repairing the HVAC system in rooms 129 and 130 at the school. 

The District 6 ½ Cent Sales Tax Fund will be used to pay Homeland Safety $109,902.21 for security camera upgrades and $3,670.50 for a remote electronic locking system at Webster Jr High School. It will also be used to pay Mechanical Cooling Services $1,650 for a blower wheel, housing, and motor for room 109 at Webster Jr High School. 

Griffith Park will also be seeing some improvements courtesy of the District 6 ½ Cent Sales Tax Fund. Stewart Electric will be paid $7,985 to repair or replace and re-aim the baseball field lighting, and Minden Farm and Garden will be paid $1,080 for rye grass seed for the baseball field.

And last but not least, the Sarepta Maintenance Fund will be used to pay Mechanical Cooling for a blower motor and module form in room 104 at North Webster Jr High School.

The Webster Parish School Board continually seeks to improve and maintain our campuses across the parish to give students excellent environments to learn in. School board meetings are open to the public. The next meeting will be held at the school board office on January 9, 2023, at 6 p.m.
