Severe weather possible over northern Louisiana

by Associated Press

NEW ORLEANS — The Storm Prediction Center says an upper level system moving over parts of the southern and central Plains could bring severe weather to parts of northern Louisiana.

National Weather Service Forecaster Mike Berry in Shreveport says thunderstorms will increase in coverage and intensity Monday afternoon and evening. Berry says strong to severe storm are possible. He says the threats include large hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes.

Berry says the severe storms could produce golf ball to baseball size hail and wind speeds up to 60 mph.
