North Webster wins three titles at State Meet

BATON ROUGE – The North Webster Knights track team traveled to the State’s capitol city for the State Track Meet at LSU’s Bernie Moore Track and came home with State Championships in three events.

The Knights Xavious Eason, a University of Louisiana-Lafayette signee, blazed past the competition to a first-place finish and a state championship in the boys 100 meter run, clocking an impressive time of 10.69.

Also on the boys side, North Webster’s Wesley Franklin won a close race in the 300 meter hurdles to become a State Champion with a time of 40.66.

In the girls events, the Lady Knights’ 4×100 meter relay team, comprised of Jada Greenard, Kentaria Thomas, MaKayla Tell and Dreunna Washington, took home the state championship, finishing first with a time of 49.11.

Other podium finishes for the Knights were turned in by the boys 4×200 relay team, which finished second with a time of 1:28.60. The boys 4×100 relay team also finished second.

Eason, T.J. Hawthorne, Jalen Smith and James Henderson combined for both relay runs.

The Lady Knights 4×200 relay team finished third with a time of 1:44.06.

North Webster wraps up the track season as boys and girls district champions, as well as girls regional champions and boys regional runner-up.
