A large crowd of residents and visitors gathered Tuesday, October 13, for Sibley Night Out, an evening filled with food, music, games, entertainment, and opportunities to connect with local first responders and community organizations.
The event, held outside Sibley Town Hall, brought together families, children, and senior citizens for a celebration that combined the spirit of National Night Out with a variety of activities and community resources.

Food, music, inflatable attractions, and activities for children contributed to the festive atmosphere as residents visited with neighbors and representatives of local organizations.
One of the evening’s highlights was the arrival of an Acadian Air Med helicopter, which landed near the festivities and gave children and adults an opportunity to climb aboard and see the aircraft up close. A giant American flag suspended from a crane added to the celebration, while a bicycle giveaway, games, and performances by cheer and dance groups kept attendees entertained throughout the evening.

Mayor Smart said the event was intended to strengthen relationships throughout the community while connecting residents with resources available to assist them during emergencies and other times of need.
“National Night Out is a community building event to strengthen police/community partnerships and create community camaraderie to make our communities safe. We built on that concept for Sibley’s Night Out and included community resources for all types of emergencies, such as our fire department, churches, and local organizations that offer assistance for various needs and threw in a whole lot of fun. We were so pleased to see such a great turnout. It warms my heart to see the kids, the families, and our seniors come together to enjoy each other, have conversations, be informed of community resources, and get to know Sibley’s police, local officials and staff.”.
The combination of entertainment and public outreach reflected the town’s efforts to encourage community involvement, strengthen relationships, and raise awareness of available resources.
With activities spread across the grounds and residents of all ages participating, Sibley Night Out turned an ordinary Tuesday evening into a communitywide celebration, demonstrating how even a small town can bring together a large crowd for a common purpose.
