Sister Silver Chatman was born on July 9, 1936 to the union of Allen and Pinkie Chatman of Homer, Louisiana. She is the thirteenth child of fourteen.
She confessed Christ at an early age and united with her family church Springhill C.M.E. Church.
Silver was a loving person who cared for her parents until their passing. She also played an important role in the rearing of her nieces and nephews.
Sister Chatman departed this life on July 23, 2016 in her home. She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Clara Bell Lewis, Enoria Zillender and Zenoria Harris; six brothers, Kirlin Chatman, Lissie Chatman, T. Lonnie Chatman, Jouir Chatman, Cardenal Chatman and Elmo Chatman.
She leave to cherish her precious memories three loving sisters, Piccola Chatman, Tessie Lee Park of Minden and Viola Mae Henry of Los Angelas, California as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services for Silver Ree Chatman will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30 at Chapel Benevolent Funeral Home. Interment will be at Springhill C.M.E. Cemetery in Homer.
