Sorority holds Christmas party

by Minden Press-Herald

The Iota Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated celebrated Christmas early with a “Ugly-Pretty Christmas Sweater”/”Lost Pearls” Dinner Party at Shane’s Seafood and Bar-B-Q in Bossier City on December 13th.  Each chapter member was asked to bring a “Lost Pearl” (a sorority member who is not activity in a chapter) as well as a gift to the dinner.  They also had to bring a gift for their “Lost Pearl” if they had one to attend.  The evening began with voting on the “Ugliest-Prettiest Christmas Sweater”, which was won by Waytona Smith and the chapter member who brought the most Lost Pearls, which was won by Evelyn Walker, with a total of three.  Before ordering dinner, the sorority played a fun and exciting Christmas game where gifts were exchanged.  All Lost Pearls in attendance had their dinner paid for by the chapter and received a gift from the chapter.  It was a great night of wonderful food, fun, games and great sisterly relations.  The chapter had such a great time, they plan to make this an annual event.  The chapter president is Patricia A. McMurray and kudos to Crevon Odom for coordinating the celebration, Millicent Martin for the wonderful game and Evelyn Walker for her wonderful ideas.
