SPRINGHILL – Skip the crowded cities this weekend and start your Christmas with a big helping of holiday spirit, as the City of Springhill hosts its Christmas on Main celebration, Saturday November 24.
Whether you want to spend your day shopping for unique Christmas gifts, relaxing with a cup of hot cocoa, or taking in a holiday parade – this is the place to be.
The Cocoa Crawl will begin at 9 a.m. You can stop by Southern Hospitality, Sharpes, Designs by Gina, Main Street Thrift, or any other participating stores to pick up a ballot and sample their hot cocoa, then cast your vote for your favorite drink a the Radio Club booth in South Main Mall.
AmJenn’s will be serving pumpkin pancakes as their breakfast special, and the Lumberjack Grill will have a food truck set up with breakfast specials as well.
Children can “contact the North Pole” and talk to Santa himself via radio, thanks to the Springhill Amateur Radio Club.
The W.H.O. of North Webster will be set up at Alex Edwards marketplace, collecting unwrapped toys and coats for local children in need.
Join the Spring Theatre for their Mistletoe Movies Matinee – Will Ferrell’s 2003 Christmas comedy, Elf, will start at 11 a.m, followed by the 2000 Jim Carrey classic, The Grinch, at 2 p.m. Admission is only $3 and concession will be available.
Also available on this special day are pictures with Santa from 2-4 p.m. at Ace Dance Studio in South Main Mall, and sleigh rides provided by Backyard Barnyard Ponies.
And before you call it a day, be sure to catch the Springhill North Webster Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade, rolling down main street at 5 p.m.
