by Minden Press-Herald

Two Springhill men are behind bars following their arrests on possession of child pornography, according to a press release from the Louisiana State Police.

On Wednesday, Louisiana State Police Detectives assigned to the Special Victim’s Unit (SVU) arrested the men as part of two separate investigations for possession of child pornography.

Earlier this year, detectives with the Louisiana State Police Special Victim’s Unit began two separate investigations involving individuals downloading and possessing child pornography in Springhill.  Those investigations resulted in two search warrants being obtained.

Both warrants were executed Wednesday by LSP-SVU detectives and members of the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Child and Family Services, Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office, Claiborne Parish Sheriff’s Office and Springhill Police Department.

During execution of the first warrant, evidence indicating possession of pornography involving juveniles was found on devices within the residence belonging to the suspect, 44-year-old Bo Skywalker Roberts of Springhill.

During execution of the second warrant, evidence indicating possession of pornography involving juveniles was found on devices within the residence belonging to the suspect, 54-year-old Joe F Palmer, Jr. of Springhill.

Both subjects were booked into the Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center and charged as follows:

Bo Skywalker Roberts, 2 counts of Possession of Pornography Involving Juveniles.

Joe F Palmer, Jr., 200 counts of Possession of Pornography Involving Juveniles; 40 counts of Distribution of Pornography Involving Juveniles.

Both investigations are on-going.  The Louisiana State Police Special Victim’s Unit urges anyone who may have been a victim of these individuals or anyone with information about individuals engaged in the possession or distribution of child pornography to report it immediately by calling 318.741.2733 or reporting it online at www.lsp.org under the suspicious activity link.
