Funeral services for Mrs. Susan Camp Covington, 51, were held Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer on with the Rev. Brian Thurman officiating. Interment followed in Adkins Cemetery between Homer and Haynesville. The family received friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until service time.

Mrs. Covington was born June 26, 1965 in Homer to Jo Ann Yancy and James H. Camp Sr. She entered into rest on Thursday, Aug., 11, 2016 in Monroe following a lengthy battle with cancer. Mrs. Covington was the captain of the drill team at Homer High School and traveled to Hawaii as part of the super star drill team for the Aloha Bowl. Mrs. Covington graduated from high school in 1983 and went on to higher education working in the medical and education fields.
Mrs. Covington was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Greg Covington; two daughters, Jessica Covington and Katy Long and husband Christopher, all of West Monroe; two brothers, James H. Camp, Jr. and wife, Brenda and Andrew Lee “Andy” Camp, all of Homer; three grandchildren, Carlynn Gonzalez, Isabella Lewis and Jeremiah Long; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers honoring Mrs. Covington, her family suggests memorials be to the American Cancer Society.
