Funeral services will be held for Syble Lorene Ethredge Brister, 96, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, with the Revs. Bill Crider and Ed Cooper officiating.
Interment will be at Gardens of Memory in Minden. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015.
Syble, a Dubberly resident, was born April 30, 1918, to Charlie and Alma Ethredge and went to be with her Lord Jan. 7, 2015, after a lengthy illness.
Syble, a Benton High School graduate, married Henry Hershal Brister in 1939 and was married to him until his death in 1987.
She is predeceased by her parents; husband; grandson, Noble Brister II; brothers Melvin, Curtis and Johnny Ethredge; sister, Julia Hagan; sisters-in-law, Lee, Mildred and Betty Ethredge; and brother-in-law, Willard Hagan.
She is survived by son, Noble Brister (Claudette); daughters, Yvonne Alexander (O.D.), Gwen Simolke (Gary) and Sharon Maynor (Alvin); brother, Charlie Ethridge; sister-in-law, Evelyn Ethredge.
She is also survived by five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, numerous step-grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, step great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
“Ms. Syble,” as she was known at Town and Country Health and Rehab, accepted Jesus as her Savior at 18 and was a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church, Minden. Over the years she loved sharing His Word and singing His praises.
A special thanks to the staff of Town and Country Health and Rehab, Minden for the excellent care given her.
Pallbearers will be Eric Simolke, Chris Brister, Russell Hightower, Alvin Maynor, Gary Simolke, O.D. Alexander and Matt Loy.
Ms. Syble will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
