On Monday April 17 the 4-H state competition for Modified Trap was held at Long Range Alley in Grand Cane.  Shooters from every corner of the state made the journey to DeSoto Parish to show off their skills and compete for the ribbons.  Once the smoke cleared, three Webster Parish 4-H’ers left with honors.

It came down to a shoot-off in both divisions to determine the winners, with Nolan Still, an eighth grader at Glenbrook School, taking the 3rd place trophy in the senior division with a score of 48/50.  Bryce Baker of North Webster placed 6th with the same score.Franklin Bridwell, also an eighth grader at Glenbrook, bested two other shooters in the shoot-off to place 2nd in Juniors with a score of 48/50   Of the hundreds of youth across the state who participate and compete in this discipline of 4-H shooting sports, 2 of the 6 trophies earned for all participants reside in the same homeroom class in the same Minden school.
