A single vehicle accident tied up traffic near Brookshire’s Tuesday around 10:45 a.m. “The vehicle was apparently traveling at a very high rate of speed in a very short distance onto Gladney St.,” Minden Chief of Police Steve Cropper said. “For some reason they swerved to the left-hand side of the road, struck the telephone pole, and rolled over.” No further details were available.

A incident involving a single vehicle rolling on its side occurred Tuesday morning around the 4000 block of Germantown Road in Minden. 16-year-old Minden High School Student Ray Barnette was headed northeast down Germantown when he came around a curve in his Dodge Ram 1500. Barnette saidhe felt his tires start to slip on the dirt/gravel and his truck started to turn. The vehicle did a complete 180-degree turn before finally ending on its side. Webster Parish Sheriff’s Deputies were on the scene along with Advanced EMS to evaluate and check for injuries.
