Minden – On June 9, at approximately 11:15 a.m., Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a single-vehicle crash on Moody Road near Holly Springs Road in Claiborne Parish. The crash claimed the life of 40-year-old Adrian Combs of Minden.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2019 Mack TerraPro, driven by Combs, was traveling west on Moody Road. For reasons still under investigation, Combs’ vehicle exited the roadway and collided with a tree.
Combs, who was unrestrained at the time of the crash, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger, who was unrestrained in the front passenger seat, sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Impairment on the part of Combs is not suspected; however, routine toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
While not all crashes are survivable, statistics show that properly wearing your seat belt will dramatically reduce your chance of being severely injured or killed in a crash. Louisiana law requires that every person in a vehicle, regardless of seating position, always remain buckled up. Properly wearing your seat belt is one of the most effective ways to save your life and reduce injuries during crashes.
