UPDATE – POSTPONED: LA 531 over Parmer’s Creek, Webster Parish

(UPDATE 8/21/2025): DOTD advises motorists that the below referenced bridge closure on LA 531 near Helfin in Webster Parish has been postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date.

DOTD will issue an update when those dates have been finalized.

Original notification – 8/19/2025:

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Monday, August 25, 2025, the LA 531 bridge over Parmer’s Creek near the Village of Heflin in southeast Webster Parish.

This bridge closure is scheduled be in place until Thursday, August 28, 2025, and is necessary to allow DOTD crews to perform repairs to the bridge pilings.

This bridge is located approximately 2 miles north of the intersection with LA 792. (see included map)

Restrictions/Permits: Total bridge closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.

Alternate Route: Detour signage will be in place.

This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
