Vera “Mudear” Webb

Mudear was born on June 6, 1930 to the late Lizzie and Jessie Mathews in Claiborne Parish. She departed this life on June 17, 2019. Mudear accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Bethany BC in Homer, La. 

She retired from T.G.& Y Department Store. She was an active member of Mt. Pilgrim BC before her health began to fail. She was president of the Pastor Support and and Usher. She was also known as the neighborhood taxi driver.

Funeral services for Mudear, 89 years, will be held at the St. Rest BC, 601 E. Union St. at 10am June 22, 2019.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 21, 2019 in the chapel at Benevolent Funeral Home from 10am to 7 pm. Services are entrusted to Benevolent Funeral Home. Officiating the Service will be Pastor Billy Joe Hawkins. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother Ruben “Jack” Mathews.

She was once married to Edmond Webb. From this union five rose bushes grew. 

Survivors include Fae Dunking, Cleamitean Whiting, Dorothy Lewis (James), Susie Garner, Darlene Castille (John), Tomball, Texas, Step sons Robert Gilliams and Willie Bedford, three God Daughter, Yvonne Booker and Anita Atkins (Robert Lee), Lillian Rice, two nephews Virgil Tibb (Darlene) Henderson,Va, sister inlaw, Willie Mae Cooper and Cousins Ester Mae Coneal, San Jose, Ca, 21 Grandchildren, 40 Great Grandchildren, 19 Great great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
