The Webster Parish School District is once again calling on the community to help students start the school year off right by participating in the 17th annual Pack the Bus school supply drive.
The event will take place Friday, July 25, from 4 to 7 PM and Saturday, July 26, from 8 AM until noon in the Walmart parking lots of both Minden and Springhill. Volunteers will be stationed near school buses to collect supplies from shoppers and donors.
“Help us Pack the Bus during our upcoming school supply drive,” said Community Liaison Ursula Hullaby. “Your donations make a real difference for students and families in our parish.”
Items collected will be distributed during the district’s annual Back to School Bash, an event designed to give students a strong start to the academic year. The new school year for Webster Parish schools begins August 11.
Suggested donations include basic school supplies such as notebooks, pencils, crayons, glue, backpacks and more. Community members are encouraged to contribute as much or as little as they are able.
