Webster Parish to host veterans and community mental health fair Sept. 10

Webster Parish veterans and residents will have the opportunity to connect with community mental health resources during the Veterans and Community Mental Health Resource Fair scheduled for Wednesday, September 10.

The event will take place from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Minden Recreation Center, 1001 Recreation Drive. Admission is free and open to the public.

Attendees will hear from speakers, receive educational information, and visit with vendors providing mental health resources. Free lunch for adults will be provided by Humana and the Webster Parish Veteran’s Safety Net Coalition.

The event will also feature a community donation drive to benefit the local homeless population. Requested items include travel-size toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, lotion and similar toiletries.

The resource fair coincides with Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, highlighting efforts to raise awareness, provide support and share hope.

The fair is sponsored by Webster Parish Veterans Safety Net, Humana Healthy Horizons in Louisiana, and Minden Medical Center.
