An Evans Street woman wanted on crack cocaine distribution charges is facing additional drug charges after Minden police reportedly found crack cocaine under her mattress.
Cynthia Shyne, 49, of the 600 block of Evans Street, was arrested on charges of possession of CDS schedule two (crack cocaine) with intent to distribute, possession of crack cocaine (over 28 grams) and on a warrant for distribution of crack cocaine.
Shyne was taken into custody on the warrant charge Thursday after Minden Police Captains Daniel Weaver and Marvin Garrett saw Shyne outside her Evans Street apartment.
Following her arrest, the detectives asked Shyne “where the cocaine was,” according to the arrest affidavit.
Shyne showed detectives where she kept it inside her home and gave them permission to search, the report said.
During the search, detectives reportedly located a plate that contained two bags of individually wrapped bags of crack cocaine under Shyne’s mattress. The suspected drugs weighed 36 grams and had a street value of $3,600, the report said.
Shyne was transported to police headquarters and booked before being transferred to Bayou Dorcheat Correction Center.
Detectives also seized $990 from Shyne.
