A Minden woman was arrested after a man was hospitalized with a stab wound following a dispute over money, according to a Minden police report.
Officers were dispatched to Minden Medical Center early Christmas morning in reference to a stabbing victim. Upon arrival, police made contact with the victim, who had bandaging on the left side of his stomach.
The victim told officers he had been involved in a verbal argument with his cousin regarding money that was allegedly owed. He stated that he went into his bedroom and later exited, at which time his cousin stabbed him with a kitchen knife.
Police reported the victim’s shirt was heavily stained with blood near the area of the injury, and it was collected as evidence.
Officers later located the suspect, Chameteria Jones, 41, at her residence. She was detained, transported to the Minden Police Department for questioning and later booked into Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
Jones was charged with aggravated second degree battery.
All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
