DOYLINE — A couple was arrested after an argument escalated over a missing bottle of whiskey.
Justin Lynn Rowell, 28, of the 100 block of Avalon Shores in Doyline, was arrested Thursday, Nov. 5, and charged with domestic abuse battery.
Ashley Rener Gray, of 100 block of Grant Circle in Doyline, was arrested the same day on the same charge.
According to reports, Webster Parish Sheriff’s Capt Robert Hayden Jr., and deputies Wade Wells and Joel Thomas responded to a call at Gray’s residence. Upon arrival, officers determined Rowell and Gray appeared to be impaired. Officers report the argument turned physical and Rowell allegedly told police Gray began hitting him and stabbed him with a sharp object.
Gray reportedly told officers Rowell had thrown her to the ground and kicked her repeatedly. Rowell then left the residence, police say.
Deputies then began to search for Rowell when they were notified he had returned to the residence. Deputies made contact with him and placed him under arrest.
Deputies say this is the third time the sheriff’s office has responded to a call of this nature with the couple.
Both subjects were placed under arrest and transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center for booking.
