The Minden 7U All-Stars are headed to the World Series.

Minden finished runner-up in the Diamond Youth Baseball 7U State Tournament Sunday in Tioga.

With the runner-up finish, Minden qualified for the DYB 7U Regional World Series to be held July 17-21 in Laurel, Miss.

Minden defeated Tioga 11-7 in the first round of the 12-team, double-elimination tournament Friday. After losing to Ville Platte in the second round Saturday, Minden won three straight games to reach the championship game, defeating the Vernon Nationals 6-5, Alexandria 13-11 and Benton 11-7.

That set up a rematch with Ville Platte. Ville Platte won and finished the tournament 6-0.
