The Minden All-Stars’ outstanding season came to an end Saturday in the Diamond Youth Baseball 9U Regional World Series in Montgomery, Ala.
A late rally fell short in a 4-2 loss to Monticello, Ark., in the single-elimination bracket.
Minden had a strong showing in the tournament. They defeated Ocean Springs, Miss., 7-4 in their final pool play game early Saturday. The game was resumed after being delayed by inclement weather in the first inning Friday.
Minden finished pool play 3-1, also defeating Magnolia, Ark., and Municipal (host Montgomery) 4-3. Their only loss was to pool winner Troy, Ala., 3-2.
Minden, which won the district and state tournaments, went 15-3 for the summer.
Members of the team are Nash Leonard, Liam Hurley, Jett Jones, Brooks Lewis, Calvin Pendergrass, Ridge Reno, Noah Minter, Brooks Ingles, Lincoln Gibson, Parker McEachern, Hudson McCain and Easton Williams.
