Press Release

Glenbrook School Director of Athletics Gary Harris announced today that the school has hired Dan Grantham to lead its boys basketball program.  Grantham, who has over thirty years of experience in the Webster Parish area coaching basketball, track and cross country, will direct both the varsity boys and junior high boys programs for the school.

“I’m very excited that we have someone of such experience and dedication tabbed to lead our young men,” said Harris.  “Throughout the interview process, it was clear that Coach Grantham has a passion for teaching and molding young men into respectful, productive adults.  His vision for our program fits what we’re trying to build with our athletics program – to be competitive and give relentless effort while maintaining our values of respect and positive character development.”

Coach Grantham’s head basketball coaching experience includes stints at Lakeside (formerly Sibley HS), Ouachita Parish HS in Monroe, Simsboro HS, as well as collegiate experience at Southern Arkansas University.  With nearly 400 wins in his career (395-181 record), Grantham’s teams have claimed over 20 playoff appearances in basketball, 19 district championships in track, numerous state runner-up and semi-finalist finishes, and he was named statewide Coach of the Year in 1985.

Grantham stated, “I am very grateful and excited about this opportunity.  I want to thank Coach Harris and Mr. Gladney for this opportunity to coach boys basketball at Glenbrook.”

Grantham most recently has served as cross country and track coach at Lakeside High School where his student/athletes have claimed numerous state honors.  From 2003-2012 he worked alongside Lakeside basketball coach Jason Gould.

Gould noted, “Coach Grantham is a great hire for Glenbrook.  There are not many coaches in this area that have the experience, knowledge, and success that he’s had in basketball and track.  I believe that he will take their basketball program to a new level.”
