The Office of Probation and Parole and the Minden Police Department arrested a man after he was a “no show” to the probation office for four months.

Tony Dewayne Martin, 33, of the 700 block of Yale Street in Minden, was arrested for felony possession of a Schedule I CDS (marijuana) fourth offense and a parole hold.

Minden Police Chief Steve Cropper says Captains Marvin Garrett and Daniel Weaver assisted Probation and Parole Agent Daniel Bernard in arresting Martin. Bernard made contact with Martin, and when Garrett and Weaver arrived at the residence, Bernard was assisting Martin getting dressed.

“Apparently they were getting him out of bed or off the couch,” Cropper said. “Inside his front pants pocket, Agent Bernard found a bottle that contained two small baggies that contained natural marijuana in each bag.”

Cropper says they also discovered a silver pipe commonly used for smoking marijuana.

Martin was placed under arrest and taken to police headquarters for booking. He was then transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
