SPRINGHILL – The North Webster Narcotics Task Force arrested a Springhill man facing charges for the reported distribution of meth.

Michael Joseph Paschall Jr., 40, of the 400 block of Percy Burns Road, was arrested Tuesday, Feb. 23, for distribution of Schedule II CDS (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of Schedule II CDS (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute. Bond was set at $75,000 for distribution and bond is to be set on the remaining offenses.

Springhill Police Chief Will Lynd, Det. Ronald Wedgeworth and Webster Parish Sheriff’s Lt. Shawn Baker were traveling on Reynolds Street in Springhill when they observed Paschall leaving a store. According to reports, the task force was aware of the warrant on him, and when Paschall stopped at another store, Baker and Wedgeworth made contact with him.

At that time, officers asked Paschall if he had any illegal narcotics inside the vehicle, to which he admitted he did.

A search of the vehicle by Lynd revealed a small blue case, which contained a smaller case inside. Inside that case, police say, were two baggies of suspected methamphetamine, a smoke pipe police believe to smoke methamphetamine and several Ziploc type bags with a plastic spoon.

Paschall was taken into custody and transported to the Springhill Police Department for booking.
