Families, youth, and outdoor enthusiasts are invited to spend a day on the water during the Fun, Fellowship & Fishing community event on Saturday, August 8, hosted by 22 Hands Up and HBCU Boosters.
The free event will be held from 8 AM to 4 PM at Grambling City Park and is open to participants of all ages, including youth, families, senior citizens and veterans.
Organizers said the event is designed to bring the community together through outdoor recreation while promoting fellowship, education and family engagement.
Activities will include a fishing contest, games and activities, educational sessions, youth participation opportunities, giveaways and prizes. Food will be available for purchase, while water and soft drinks will be provided.
Whether participants are experienced anglers or trying fishing for the first time, organizers hope the event will offer an opportunity to build relationships, enjoy the outdoors and create lasting memories.
The event reflects the mission of 22 Hands Up, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth through mentorship, leadership development, financial literacy, wellness and educational opportunities. Based in Minden, the organization regularly hosts workshops, career exploration events and community outreach programs aimed at preparing young people for success while strengthening families and neighborhoods.
Registration is encouraged. For more information, call (318) 208-0350, email [email protected] or visit www.22handsup.org.
