The 4-H livestock show at the Webster Parish Fair kicked off October 1 with the poultry and rabbit shows, showcasing participants’ skills in handling and care. The event opened with the careful judging of individual animals, followed by the youth showmanship competition, where participants demonstrated their expertise and fielded questions from judges.
In the poultry show, Jacob Talarchyk claimed the title of champion showman, while Taylor Rayner was named reserve champion showman. Rayner also earned the title of champion poultry, with Lennie Garza taking the reserve champion poultry title.




The rabbit show saw Kaylee Lindsey awarded champion rabbit, with Peyton Saintignan securing reserve champion. Slade Lockey was recognized as champion showman, and Saintignan also earned reserve champion showman.
The swine shows are scheduled for tonight, October 2, at 6 PM in the livestock arena, where the swine weight classes will follow. The community is encouraged to come out and support local youth as they continue to learn about livestock and agriculture.
