Surveillance Footage Leads to Arrest in Truck Stop Burglary

by Minden Press-Herald

A Minden woman was arrested Wednesday morning just three hours after allegedly breaking into the office of a truck stop on Goodwill Road and stealing more than $600 in cash, according to the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Judith Taylor Brown, 30, of Meadow Creek Road, was taken into custody around 8:30 a.m. and booked on one count of simple burglary. She remains in the Webster Parish Jail with no bond set.

According to Sheriff Jason Parker, Brown allegedly used a fire extinguisher to break a door knob and force her way into the truck stop office around 5:30 a.m. Once inside, surveillance video reportedly shows her using a screwdriver to pry open a file cabinet and remove a money bag from a drawer.

Investigators said Brown was found with $640 in cash at the time of her arrest. She reportedly admitted to taking the money during questioning.

The investigation was closed within three hours thanks to clear surveillance footage and quick work by responding deputies, Parker said.
