A Minden man was arrested following a traffic stop on Homer Road after officers discovered drugs, paraphernalia and multiple outstanding warrants, according to a Minden Police Department report.
Police said Brandon Hodge, 59, was stopped after the gray Chevrolet pickup truck he was driving ran a red light at the intersection of Homer Road and Elm Street. The traffic stop was conducted a short distance away near Chandler Street.
During the stop, officers learned Hodge had an expired driver’s license, improper vehicle registration and three active warrants through the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office, the report states. Hodge was asked to exit the vehicle, at which point suspected marijuana was observed in plain view on the driver’s side floorboard.
Hodge was taken into custody and advised of his rights. A K-9 unit conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted, leading to a search of the truck, police said.
During the search, officers reported locating approximately 10 grams of marijuana, 0.8 grams of methamphetamine, a glass smoking pipe, a metal marijuana grinder and two straws containing white residue beneath the driver’s seat.
The vehicle was towed from the scene, and Hodge was transported to the Minden Police Department for booking.
Hodge was charged with prohibited acts involving a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, violations of vehicle registration laws, failure to obey traffic control signals, and driving with an expired license.
All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
