One year after hosting its first gathering, Hearts & Halos: Infant and Pregnancy Loss Awareness continues expanding its outreach to families coping with pregnancy and infant loss through support events and community connections.
Founder Neisa Murray said the organization’s first event, held last year at the Minden Recreation Complex, opened the door for many families to share their experiences for the first time.
“Exactly a year ago, we held our very first gathering at Minden Rec,” Murray said. “Since then, we’ve met so many families who have experienced pregnancy and infant loss, and a lot of them shared that they had never talked about their loss openly before. Being able to connect with those families, offer support, and let them know they’re not alone is exactly why we keep our mission going.”
Murray said the organization works to break the silence surrounding pregnancy and infant loss while providing a space where grieving families can find encouragement and community.
“It’s important to us to continue to break the silence around pregnancy and infant loss and continue reaching people who may need support,” she said.
Although registration has closed for the upcoming “Growing Through It: Painting and Craft Workshop,” Hearts & Halos has several other events planned in the coming months.
The organization will host its first “Holding Space for Hope” Social Circle via Zoom on Sunday, March 29, at 5:30 PM CST. The virtual gathering is designed as a safe space for individuals affected by pregnancy or infant loss to share and connect. Murray said the Zoom link will be shared privately with participants to help maintain a supportive environment. Hearts & Halos plans to hold similar social circles twice each month, with future dates announced on the organization’s Facebook page.
Another event, “She Still Blooms: Mother’s Day Social,” is scheduled for Saturday, May 2, from 2 PM to 5 PM at Elegance on Union in Minden. The adults-only gathering will focus on healing, confidence, and self-love for mothers who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss, as well as loved ones who support them. The free event will include healing activities, light refreshments, and special guests and resources. Registration for the event will close April 17.

In June, Hearts & Halos plans to host “Daddies With Angels Cookout” on Saturday, June 13, from 2 PM to 6 PM at Miller Quarters Park in Minden. The Father’s Day-themed gathering is intended to recognize fathers affected by pregnancy or infant loss while providing a space for support and connection. The free, family-friendly event will feature games, cookout-style food while supplies last, and community resources. Registration will remain open through May 30.

Additional events are planned later in the year, including the 2nd Annual Angel Baby Fun Run on October 10 and a Halo Tree Ornament Workshop on December 12. Details will be announced on the Hearts & Halos Facebook page as the dates approach.
Murray said the organization welcomes community members interested in volunteering or sponsoring future events. Those interested can contact Hearts & Halos by email at [email protected] or through the organization’s Facebook page.
