Minden Charity Classic sells out as Foundation prepares for 2026 fundraiser weekend

by Amber McDown

Registration for the 2026 Minden Charity Classic golf tournament has officially sold out as the Minden Foundation prepares for another year of fundraising events benefiting local families in crisis.

The annual tournament is scheduled for May 29-31 at Pine Hills Country Club and serves as one of the nonprofit organization’s largest fundraising efforts each year.

Organizers announced on social media that all golf team spots for the 2026 tournament have been filled. The Foundation previously encouraged teams to register quickly as openings began to disappear shortly after registration launched April 3.

The weekend fundraiser will again include a Dinner & Auction on Friday evening, May 29, followed by tournament play May 30 and May 31.

In addition to golf, the Foundation is bringing back “Birdies, Bubbles, and Bingo,” a social fundraiser hosted alongside North Louisiana Benefits Group. The event is scheduled for May 30 at Pine Hills Country Club and will feature brunch-style food, bingo, and beverages for attendees ages 21 and older. This event is also sold out.

The Minden Foundation operates as a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting residents within the Minden area whose needs may not be fully met by other charities or organizations. According to the Foundation’s mission statement, assistance may include helping families affected by house fires, floods, or severe illnesses that create financial hardship.

In addition to the Charity Classic, the organization hosts an annual fall Shoot Out fundraiser and recently launched a public art initiative known as Wings Over Webster.

The initiative is designed to bring interactive public art to Webster Parish through wing-themed murals inspired by Louisiana wildlife. Property owners participating in the program work with local artists and designers to customize mural concepts for their buildings.

According to information provided by the Foundation, murals require city approval and building permits before installation, particularly within historic downtown or Main Street districts. The program also encourages community participation during the painting process.

The Minden Foundation is recognized as a Section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization by the Internal Revenue Service.

Additional information about the Foundation, sponsorships, and its initiatives is available through the Foundation’s website at Minden Foundation.
