The LSU Tigers are ranked No. 11 in the Preseason AP Top 25.
LSU opens its first season under Head Coach Lsne Kiffin Sept. 5 at 6:30 p.m. in Tiger Stadium. Clemson did not make the top 25, but it was the first team in “others receiving “ votes.
LSU received 988 points in the voting by members of the media throughout the country. That was 57 less than No. 10 Oklahoma.
Ohio State, which received 40 of a possible 69 first-place votes, is ranked No. 2. Second-ranked Oregon received 14 first-place votes.
Georgia is No. 3 followed by Notre Dame, Texas, defending national champion Indiana, Miami, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Oklahoma.
Other SEC teams in the top 26 are No. 13 Alabama, No. 20 Tennessee and No. 25 Missouri.
LSU is coming off a 7-6 season. The Tigers were ranked No. 13 in the Preseason Coaches Poll released earlier this month.
