Minden is gearing up for the Christmas season, and preparations are underway for one of the community’s most anticipated holiday traditions, the annual Minden Christmas Parade.
This year’s parade, themed “All Aboard the Minden Express,” will take place Thursday, December 10, at 6 PM in downtown Minden, bringing a festive celebration inspired by the beloved holiday story The Polar Express.
Organizers are encouraging businesses, organizations, schools, churches, and community groups to get creative with their entries, incorporating trains, holiday lights, colorful decorations, and music to bring the theme to life.
From elaborate floats to decorated vehicles and other imaginative entries, participants are encouraged to embrace the nostalgic spirit of the theme and help create a memorable evening for spectators lining the downtown streets.
The parade will begin at the corner of Second Street and Main Street and conclude at the same location. Participants should arrive for lineup beginning at 3 PM.
Following the parade, an awards ceremony will be held at the Minden Civic Center at 7:15 PM, recognizing outstanding entries.
Those wishing to participate must submit their completed entry forms to the Greater Minden Chamber of Commerce by Wednesday, December 9, at 4 PM.
For additional information, contact Chamber President and CEO Stephanie Barnette at 318-377-4240 or 318-510-1610, or email [email protected].
The parade will be part of the larger Christmas in Minden celebration, bringing residents and visitors together to enjoy the sights, sounds, and traditions of the holiday season in historic downtown Minden.
