The Willow Shed in Minden is inviting local businesses, organizations, and community members to get creative for a good cause with its first annual Festival of Trees, a holiday fundraiser benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The event will feature decorated Christmas trees created by local businesses and residents, with opportunities for the public to tour the displays, vote for their favorites, and participate in a fundraising auction.
Participants can enter a decorated tree ranging from 3 to 14 feet tall for a $50 registration fee, with no restrictions on themes or designs. Awards will be presented for first, second, and third place, as well as Most Creative, Most Unique, and Most Holiday Spirit.
The public is invited to tour the displays and vote for their favorites November 28, December 5, and December 12. Participants may also donate their trees for a live auction December 19, although donations are not required.
The festival will culminate Saturday, December 19, with a family-friendly celebration from 12 PM to 5 PM featuring crafts, food, cookie decorating, holiday music, and other activities.
Sponsorship packages ranging from $100 to $1,000 are available for businesses interested in supporting the fundraiser.
Proceeds will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which provides treatment and conducts research for children facing cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
The event will be held at The Willow Shed, 457 State Route 531 in Minden. For more information or to register, call 470-753-9267.
