by Minden Press-Herald

In separate incidences, two people were arrested on various drug charges and an additional charge for aggravated assault for one suspect.

The Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Levert Letrell Young, 22, aka “Boo,” of the 500 block of Central School Road on charges of domestic abuse battery, aggravated assault, misdemeanor theft, simple possession of schedule I controlled dangerous substance (marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia and on a warrant for contempt of court.

Around 7:45 p.m., Wednesday, deputies were called to Caney Lake Road after Young’s girlfriend called them in reference to Young reportedly pulling her roommate from her car and hitting her and kicking her.

According to the report, Young pulled a four-way tire tool from the car and threatened to beat her with it.

Deputies say Young put her inside the vehicle and drove to Minden where he reportedly took some cash from her wallet. The victim was able to get away from Young, deputies said.

Young was located around 2 a.m., Thursday, at the 800 block of Lee Street hiding in a closet.

He was placed under arrest, and during a search, deputies reportedly discovered a small bag containing suspected marijuana and cigars in his pants pocket with the bag.

A check revealed he had an active warrant for contempt of court.

Young was transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.

In a separate incident, deputies arrested Steven P. Saxon, 35, of the 300 block of Middle Road in Dubberly on a warrant for theft, possession of schedule I CDS (marijuana), cultivation of marijuana and possession of a CDS in the presence of a minor.

Around 4 p.m., Wednesday, deputies made contact with Saxon at his residence and taken into custody on the warrant. A search of the residence revealed plants believed to be marijuana in Saxon’s bathroom, along with plant lights.

A green, leafy substance, suspected to be marijuana, was located inside the residence. Deputies say Saxon’s two underage children were living at the residence.

Saxon was transported to BDCC.
