Tucker: ‘Thank You’ just doesn’t seem enough

by Minden Press-Herald

Dear Supporters of Minden High School,

I have struggled over the past week to come up with words that are adequate enough to express my sincere gratitude for the entire Minden community.

However, “thank you” just doesn’t seem enough, but I am truly grateful for the level of support that has been shown to our school, students, and faculty during this extra-ordinary football season.

It has been such a blessing to see the fans come out week after week in full support to our team, spirit groups, and coaching staff.

This was a year that we will not forget for a very long time and I am thankful for the blessings that came with it that many do not see behind the scenes. Our students stepped up in ways that built their character and work ethic. They have studied harder and performed better academically in their classes and have been making long-range plans for their post-secondary studies. I am grateful to my entire staff for their willingness to go “above and beyond” so many times that I am unable to list them all and not leave someone out.

The Minden High School Football Quarterback Club came together to support not only the team, but the entire community with their wonderful tailgating activities that soon became a part of pre-game festivities that everyone looked forward to. Multiple civic groups did their share to assist in taking up tickets at game entrances and did it with smiling faces and hospitable attitudes.
Our local law enforcement officers with Minden Police Department and Webster Sheriff’s Department were always there at the ready to assist in making game night a safe and enjoyable time for everyone. I am hesitant to continue as I am certain that I will forget someone, but please know that you are appreciated!

It is my hope that the spirit that was shown during the fall will continue throughout the remainder of the year. There are so many wonderful and exciting things going on at Minden High School that we encourage everyone to be a part.

Soccer action is in full swing, basketball has begun, and there are numerous extra-curricular groups that are doing multiple community service projects at the moment. Spring will be here before we know it and our baseball, softball, and track teams would welcome your support as they represent MHS.

On behalf of Minden High School, I want to thank each and every person who bought a ticket, rang a bell, purchased from the concession stand, and yelled “ROLL, TIDE, ROLL” throughout an unforgettable season. We wish all of you a blessed holiday season and we hope to see you at future events very soon!

Merry Christmas!

Robin Tucker, Principal Minden High School
