The 2017 award of Man and Woman of the year will take place at the 75th annual Minden South-Webster Chamber of Commerce.
Community members nominate individuals each year who they feel are deserving of the award.
Mike Wise, Minden Lions Club board member, says nominations should include biographical, civic and professional activities, including awards and contributions to the wellbeing of the community as well as any community and leadership attributes.
“Nominations should include as much information as possible,” he said. “It should include their family and their work, their professional activities and awards.”
The tradition of selecting the Man and Woman of the Year is long standing and highlights citizens who have made contributions to the communities in which they live.
“These awards are positions of respect and admiration,” Wise said. “We have always had a good time announcing the Man of the Year and I hope it is a tradition that continues for years to come.”
Personal references and letters should be mailed along with the ballots.
The deadline for nomination entries is Friday.
