Funeral services for Dathene Lively Brown will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church Minden, Louisiana with Bro. Steve Gilley and Bro. Charlie Lechner officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Minden, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church. 

Mrs. Brown was born September 9, 1925 in Baskin, Louisiana and entered into rest December 21, 2018 in Bossier City, Louisiana. Mrs. Brown helped develop and served as the Executive Director for the Webster Parish Council on Aging for 47 years. Her happiest achievement was being able to see the new Minden Council on Aging facility become a reality in 2013. Her passion was directed towards making sure the elderly of Webster Parish had services available to them that would improve their quality of life in and outside the agency. 

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, Mick and Sadie Lively, her husband of 53 years, Rev. Lloyd H. Brown, her sister, Gardene Perkins, and her brother, Buford Lively. 

She is survived by her son, Mickey W. Brown (Diane), (1) nephew, (3) grandchildren, and (5) great-grandchildren. 

Honoring Mrs. Brown as pallbearers will be; Curtis Taylor, Bob Brown, Robert Clark, Ronald Day, Matt Raley, and Bradley Adair. 

Special appreciation is extended to caregivers; Sherry Youngblood and Deborah Wiliamson, neighbors, Paula and Curtis Taylor, Home Health nurse, Nancy Brady, Dr. Carter Boyd, Dr. Britton Eaves, and Dr. Ashok Kompelli, as well as the caring staff at Colonial Oaks Skilled Nursing Facility.
