High school golf: Minden’s McCormick qualifies for Division II state tournament

Minden’s Jackson McCormick qualified for the Division II state tournament Monday.

McCormick shot an 10-over par 82 in the Region I, Division II tournament at Oakwing Golf Club in Alexandria.

He was among four individual qualifiers for the state tournament to be held Monday and Tuesday at the Wetlands in Lafayette.

Ross Anderson and George Trappey of team champion St. Louis Catholic shared medalist honors.

St. Louis Catholic shot a 293. St. Thomas More was second with a 318. Teurlings Catholic and DeRidder also qualified for the state tournament.
