Ms. Annie Ruth Murray was called home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Oct. 1 2019 at North Louisiana Medical Center in Ruston, Louisiana. Annie was born on Sept. 2, 1941 in Doyline, Louisiana to the late Charlie and Dinkie Murray. At the age of 10 years old, Annie joined New Zion Baptist Church in Doyline, Louisiana. In 1962, her family moved to Minden, Louisiana, where Annie united with Jerusalem Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member until her health failed. 

Annie was a 1959 Webster High School graduate. Annie’s hobbies included: she taught herself how to play the piano, singer, loved to knit, worked word search puzzles, watch TV, and was her young nieces and nephews babysitter.

Annie was preceded in death by her father, mother and three sisters: Julie M. Brown, Fannie M. Musgrove, and Hattie M Fuller.

Annie leaves to cherish her memories, four sisters; Theo Murray, Minden , Louisiana, who raised her as her daughter; Mary M. Richardson, Shreveport, Louisiana; Magaline M. Quarles, Minden, Louisiana, and Rubye M. Williams, Chicago, Illinois. Nine nieces, seven nephews, two nieces that were raised as Annie’s sisters, Virginia Henderson and Elizabeth Clark, Minden, Louisiana. One nephew hat was raised as her brother, Larry Moore, Sr. (Mae), Los Angeles, California. A host of devoted great, great, great, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

The funeral services for Ms. Annie Ruth “Ann” Murray will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday Oct. 12, 2019 at the Greater St. paul Baptist Church. Rev. Royal Scott, pastor Rev. Felix Rice are officiating. Remains will lie in a state 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the Benevolent Funeral Home. Internment will take place at Jenkins Community Cemetery, Doyline, Louisiana.
